What makes A good Programmer? How can I improve?

Ok so what makes a good developer? I continue to strive to be the best developer that i can be, Improving my knowledge of php asp mysql and html, But is this enough knowing all of these cool geeky languages? I constantly get envious of the designers creating these nice designs and constantly wonder if this is something that i can adapt to my work patterns.
